Program Description

Event Details

Community Storytime is a new story time on the first Thursday of every month, where different local people will get to present a story time, in order to promote different professions, identities, authors, and groups in our community. It's a fun way to show how everyone can be a reader! This story time is open for all youth ages, and registration is not required. Some weeks there may be interactive elements, activities, and more too. Be sure to check for each month's feature at the library to see what to expect. The first thirty minutes will be story time and the last thirty minutes will be open play for kids. If you're interested in being one of our presenters, please contact Chanda, the Outreach Librarian.

April Presenter: Sarah Steele, Local Poet

"Sarah Steele is a poet and recovering people-pleaser. You can find Sarah’s poems in many publications, including The Way Back to Ourselves, where she is an editor. Her latest book, a poetry memoir called An Ocean Without, wrestles with the boundaries ignored and the anxiety internalized within servant-hearted women everywhere. When she’s not writing or speaking, you can find Sarah leading students of all ages—including her own four redheads—in poetry workshops, watercolor classes, nature studies, and neighborhood book clubs around their Michigan home."
