Pride Book Club - Summer Bird Blue

Please join us for a discussion of Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman. After a car accident that takes the life of Rumi Seto’s younger sister, Lea, Rumi begins a journey through grief and self-discovery. With the help of new friends, Rumi is able to overcome her guilt and gain a deeper understanding of herself. Exploring themes of unconditional love, insurmountable grief, and how to forgive when it feels impossible, the story of Rumi gives hope that there is joy to be found after loss and we can all be accepted no matter how different we feel.
