Please join us for a discussion of "The Price of Salt" by Patricia Highsmith. This classic novel tells the story of Therese Belivet, a stage designer trapped in a department-store day job, whose salvation arrives one day in the form of Carol Aird, an alluring suburban housewife in the throes of a divorce. Although Highsmith wrote over 22 novels and numerous short stories, The Price of Salt is her only novel about an unequivocal lesbian relationship, and its relatively happy ending was unprecedented in lesbian literature.
Registration and book pick-up begins Monday, February 17th. A Zoom option will be available for individuals who would like to attend virtually.
